Every day during harvest time, hundreds of coffee producers come to the Uraga washing station to deliver small amounts of coffee. Each producer has an average of 2-3 hectares of land on which they grow coffee, and on that space they they can produce about half a ton of green coffee per year. Uraga is owned by Israel Degfa, from whom we have bought coffee for several years, and is run by site manager Melkisa who together with the rest of the team puts a lot of effort into the sorting, fermentation and drying process. This coffee does not hold an organic certification, but is however mostly grown under organic conditions.
