In Kirinyaga, the coffee trees bloom between March and April each year, and the harvest season usually begins around November that same year. Kirinyaga is an amazing area for coffee production and Muchagara is the oldest washing station in the area. The first coffee was processed here as early as 1959 and today, about 1700 producers come here with their coffee cherries.
